Privilege to me does not connote material success. The children
of privilege are not to be confused with the children of the rich....
Privilege to me is having a job you love. Privilege to me is being
able to move about the country as you please. Privilege to me
is having a parent who cares enough to say "No" every once
in a while. Privilege to me is growing up in a family where the
love is sufficiently palpable that people can actually disagree
with each other. Privilege to me is being a kid whose parents
are more interested in preparing than in protecting. Privilege
to me is being allowed to grow up. Privilege to me is living
without fear.
